Story Time with Aaron

Aaron used his time out of school quite productively. He drew this picture which he is very proud of. He says he is going to keep it forever.

Yesterday I got him telling the story of this lovely drawing on camera

Poor Baby

Yesterday after I dropped Aaron off at preschool his teacher called me to say that he "took a fall" and that I should come pick him up. When I got there his lip was about twice the size that it is in this picture. Apparently he was being chased by Amanda, a little girl I have mentioned before, who LOVES Aaron. Well, he ran into a cubby and split open the inside of his mouth. It is pretty gross from the inside so I didn't post a picture of that. Nick wanted to know if we could get a restraining order against a five year old girl. I'm just glad he didn't loose any teeth. Today he has a bruise that looks like a moustache on one side. Poor baby.

Zoo mobile

Last Friday the Zoo-mobile came to Aaron's preschool. Aaron was hoping they would bring a giraffe, but the biggest animal they brought was this snake.

here are some kids inspecting a snake skeleton

Charlotte acted shy but I think secretly she loved sitting on the rug with all the kids

and Elsie had a wonderful time tearing up the classroom.

Latest cut

As I mentioned earlier, Miss Charlotte decided to give herself a haircut. She climbed on top of the bathroom counter, got into the top shelf of the medicine cabinet, found the scissors and cut one side of her hair. I was thrilled.

This picture managed to capture the absolute worst of it. It actually doesn't look totally awful.

She mostly just cut long bangs that went a little too far to the side. I was in the habit of blow drying her hair after a bath because her first cut was so cute, but since she took scissors to it I have done nothing other than try to hide the choppiness with a bow for church.

The other day the kids were playing nicely in their room while I was making dinner and Elsie came out to say "Hi" looking like this. I guess Charlotte has found a real life doll to play dress up with!

Dear Anonymous

I appreciate your input on the BPA matter. I have actually done a bit of research on the subject and have found some disturbing information. I'm glad that you have experienced no problems and you are right, I too am just fine, though I don't think I was exposed to as much as kids are today. I in no way want to push my beliefs onto you I simply wanted to help others who might be concerned for their children as well as I am for mine. I hope your good health continues.

BPA-Free

I have recently become concerned about the chemical BPA which is found in baby bottles, water bottles, pacifiers, sippy cups and lots, lots more. This chemical has been linked to causing problems in a developing fetus, early puberty in girls, late puberty in boys, and much more. I came across this today and it was very helpful for me. I thought I would share it with anyone else who might be slightly obsessive, like me.

Avila Beach

Last Friday my kids and I went to the beach with my Mom and Alex.

On the way there we ate breakfast at the Madonna Inn.

We didn't eat in this room but we had to take a picture. It was ALL pink and covered in flowers. A three year old girls dream.

Next stop, Avila.

We spent most of the day here. At noon the fog burned off and it was a beautiful sunny day.

Then before we headed home we went over to Pismo to eat dinner at Splash Cafe. The kids got corn dogs but my Mom, Ali and I had lots of delicious chowder and seafood!

dessert, then a walk down the pier before hoping back into the car.

Elsie felt the need to try to pick up everyone of the nails on the pier.

Today is the day...

I start blogging again. I am either 11 or 12 weeks, I can't remember, but I feel much better and my house is clean today so here we go.

Elsie's first self feeding session!

She got most of it. I only had to help her with the last two bites.

and here is Charlotte the day she decided to wear all of her headbands. This is before the day that she decided to give herself a haircut. Pictures of that will come.
