Halloween 2010

With all the excitement the week before, we never found a chance to carve our pumpkins, so on Halloween night we finally did it!

This was the first time Charlotte carved her pumpkin without any help!

Ward Party

Our ward party was very fun this year. I didn't get too many pictures, but there was lots to do and the decorations were really great.

Nick was in charge of this foot-ball toss game which he made out of old motorcycle tires! On the top of this picture below you can see one side of the massive spider web that covered the entire cultural hall.

Here the kids are in line for the costume contest. Charlotte won the grand prize... a huge bag of twix!!

It wouldn't be a ward party without trunk-or-treating! The kids got so much candy, too much in fact!

After making there way to all the trunks they were excited to help Grandpa Don pass out his candy.

Pumpkin Patch Pictures!

What would October be with our forcing my kids to pose at a pumpkin Patch?
I didn't get any perfect groupshots, but I did get some fun ones.

While we were posing here a mom with 4 teenagers came and were waiting to take a picture in the same spot. They were trying to recreate a picture she took of them when they (1 oldest boy and three younger sisters) were the ages of our kids. It was very cute.

Halloween Costumes 2010

With Halloween being on a Sunday, the whole weekend was filled with parties and there were lots of opportunities to dress up!

Photobucket

Photobucket

On Friday night Lila was a spider... and then on Saturday she wanted to be a cowgirl!

We found this wig in the dress-up box and Elsie had to incorporate it into a costume so on Friday night she was Fancy Nancy... and then on Saturday she was Snow White again, but this time with black hair!

Photobucket

Charlotte just stuck with Pippi (thankfully because she was adorable!!)
here is mt attempt to get the "pippi skip" with my camera. (I did record it also, it might be one of the cutest things I've ever seen.)

Of course Aaron just wanted to be a ninja. I paid 10 dollars for that costume at Wal-Mart last year. It is a very cheap costume and there are holes in both knees, but he loves it so I guess I got my money's worth!

Character Day

Our kids school has a little Character Day Parade where they parade around Fig Garden Village trick-or-treating to all the little shops. They are supposed to dress as their favorite character from a book.

Photobucket

Charlotte and I read Pippi Longstocking over the summer and we watched the movie too. Charlotte is a pro at doing the Pippy skip so hers was an easy choice. Her little pinafore was easy and fun to throw together and she even helped sew the patches on! This was the most fun I've had pulling a costume together, and the final product was perfect! She looked great!!

Aaron wanted to be a Ninja again. I offered to make him another costume, maybe an all black one so that at least he would look different than he did last year. But he didn't want me to. He wanted to wear the exact same one he did last year. It was kind of a stretch in my opinion but his "character" was a ninja from The Magic Tree House series Ninjas at Nightfall.

After we dropped the kids off at school we headed over to Jamba juice to order a drink and get ready for the parade.
