Avila - Day 3

Our last day was a little bit sad, but we were excited to be going home to see Nick. He was coming home in less than a week. I didn't take any pictures of our last day on the beach. It was a bit more windy than the other days had been. We still had a good time though and we barbecued salmon. So Yummy!

Right after we loaded the car to go home we decided to go through the Sea Life Center in Avila. We had never been and it was fun! We ended up spending an hour in there before getting in the car.

Nick and I are going back to Avila for our Anniversary next month. I can't wait!

Avila - Day 2

The next morning we got to the beach very early. It was overcast and a bit chilly and I LOVED it.

Aaron discovered a love of boogie boarding. It was fun to watch him go from a novice to practically a pro by the end of the day :) The only reason he got out of the water was because we were leaving to go get dinner.

Avila - Day1

The week after our trip up north, our daddy was still out of town. So, we met up with Aunt Tree and went to the beach!!! Last summer we never made it to the beach and Lila kept asking us what the beach was like on our drive there because she couldn't remember!

Clearly we don't go often enough. I've made a resolution to change that :)

We stayed in Pismo, but our feet never touched the sand there. We went to Avila every day. Next time I think we will just stay there.

The last time we took the kids to the beach Lila was 1 and she cried if the sand touched her toes. It made it nice because I knew she would stay put on our blanket. But this year she jumped right in and never looked back. Keeping track of her this year was a different story.

I thought that her face plant into the sand, with her eyes WIDE OPEN might slow her down a bit, but as soon as we got her eyes rinsed out she was off again :)

Elsie still has moments where she thinks she thinks she might not survive without me by her side. Whenever she doesn't show up in pictures it's because she was attached to me.

While we were walking along the beach the kids were running in and out of the water when all of a sudden Lila started screaming bloody murder! I could tell that it wsa a scared scream and not a "I'm in pain" scream so I couldn't figure out what was wrong. When I got to her I realized that sea weed had wrapped around her feet. She was pretty sure she was going to die.

She stayed clear of the stuff from that point on!

We had been looking forward to Splash Cafe all day! It did not disappoint.
