Halloween Party

Our ward had a Halloween Party tonight out on a members property. I didn't get as many pictures as I wish I had but here are some that turned out alright.

There were a few carnival games but the favorite for my kids was the fishing game. They must have done it 15 times each.

They also had a hay ride which looked like fun but I sat out so I could eat! They got to feed the horses which sounded like fun.

We ended the night with a pie eating contest which Nick was convinced to join. I'm really not sure who won but I was happy that he didn't get pie all over the costume I spent so many hours making:) The kids were exhausted by the time we got in the car. We only live about 10 minutes away but all three of them were sleeping when we got home. Charlotte fell asleep with a piece of chocolate in her hand which was a melted gooey mess when we got home!!

Pumpkin Patch

Charlotte's little preschool went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch yesterday. It wasn't the greatest one ever but the kids still had fun.

Here is a picture of her class. Except for the boy on the right who is the brother of Carsen in our class.

They had a small maze which the kids ran through amazingly fast.

Elsie was content to explore all of the pumpkins and haystacks. And very smiley which helped out for pictures.

And Charlotte is always ready to smile for a camera. Unfortunately Aaron was at his Preschool so he missed out but we might go to another one this weekend with him and Nick.

Also Nick and I celebrated our 4th anniversary yesterday. We went out to Dinner then came home and watched the office. Next year we want to go on another cruise.

Funny and cute things

My kids always say funny things but this week there seems to have been an increase in them. Friday nights we have been having a pizza and movie night and this week (completely unintentionally) we watched Bambi. Well, on Friday and Saturday Nick went hunting with some guys in our ward. When we got to the part where Bambi's mother is shot the kids asked "What happened?" I said "She was shot." Aaron asked "Who shot her?" I said "some hunters" and then he said "Maybe it was my dad" in a very worried voice.

The other day Charlotte was trying on her princess costume for Halloween and I told her that she was the prettiest princess in the whole world. Then she said "Yeah, I'm the Mister Man Princess." Followed by "Mommy when you want to talk to me, don't call me Charlotte call me Mister Man Princess."

We have been trying to be like Jesus in our house so every time one of the kids does something good we write it down on a piece of paper which we hang on the fridge. The kids love it and try to do as many good deeds as they can. (One of the more brilliant ideas I've had as a mother!) So Aaron had just done a good deed and I told him that I was so proud of him and that I loved him very much. He said "Yeah, you love me because I am so good" I said "I am proud of you because you are good but I would love you even if you were bad." He looked up at me with surprise and excitement in his eyes and said "Thanks Mom!"

One more thing I had to add. Tonight at dinner Charlotte told me that her dinner was handsome yummy!

The Fair

Yesterday we went to the Fresno Fair. We all had a really good time. Well maybe not Elsie. I think she would have rather stayed home where she could crawl around, but she wasn't too fussy.

Here she is watching the pig races. It was pretty funny, every time the pigs would run past us she would get really scared.

Charlotte had fun. I don't think she remembered going last year so it was like a new experience for her. I think she liked the cotton candy the best. Though she said her favorite part was a blow up pink killer whale toy that we did not buy.

Aaron was dying to do the bungee chord jump so we gave in and let him try. As you can see he was very excited.........

that is until it actually started. Then he was terrified. But I was proud of him for not crying. When he got off he said it was fun and scary. It didn't ruin his fun though.

Next we were off to the Hypnotist show which Nick volunteered for.....and was successfully hypnotised. Unfortunatly our camera ran out of batteries so I can't post any pictures but it was funny.

Elsie the crawler

Elsie is officially crawling. She was crawling backward for a while but she finally figured it out.

She is so happy with her new independence. She especially loves to crawl over to eat the cheerios that she threw over the side of her highchair. She's like my little cordless vacuum.

She is also very fond of pulling all the books off of the book shelf that her brother and sister worked so hard to put away.

Stupid head?

Today I was talking to Charlotte when out of nowhere Aaron said "Don't say stupid head" Surprised I said "she didn't say that" his reply was "no I was talking to my head, it just says stupid sometimes" this coming from the boy who says he can read, but only in his head, because he is magic. I am beginning to wonder exactly what does go on inside his head.

Nick's 29th Birthday!

The kids were very excited about Daddy's birthday even though they weren't really part of the celebration. They did have fun painting decorations for his birthday cake though!

After we ate our cake we took the kids to spend the night with Grandpa Don. Then it was time for the real party.

Originally we were going to have a pirate party in observance of national talk like a pirate day. But somehow we ended up having a 70's themed murder mystery party instead. Still very amusing.

Personally I think dressing up might have been the most fun, though it was awesome to hear Preston's Bruce Lee impersonation. But overall I think all who attended would agree that the true highlight of the evening was indeed Nick's wig!
