Halloween 2012

I don't remember where the idea came from initially to dress up in poodle skirts, but pretty soon all three girls wanted to. They were fun and so easy to make. Charlotte even got to help!

Aaron's costume came from the naval base in Lemoore. I picked it up when I went with Ali to a Dr. appointment.

Our ward party was on Halloween this year. Our kids were so upset at the injustice of last years costume contest that there was no way they wanted to miss out on trick-or-treating for it. We invited some friends over for a BBQ and trick or treating instead.

Here is a glimpse of our new windows! Huge improvement!!!

Pumpkin Carving

This is the last picture taken of our house before our new windows were installed. One night in mid September we all woke to a terrifying crash and the sound of glass shattering. It had been a windy night  and the wind had blown our 50 year old window down onto the kitchen floor! Our window looked like this while we waited on the new ones to come in :)

Lila's Party!

Lila wanted to have a costume party for her friend party this year. I can see how a October birthday could be extra fun for her. We borrowed some Halloween carnival games from friends and that made it a simple party that she loved!

Her only activity she really cared about happening was the pinata. She picked out this unicorn one!

Above were the examples for decorating cupcakes. They turned out really cute and funny. There was an age range between 3-10.

Character Day Parade

I had to really convince Elsie that she should be Pippy instead of a Disney Princess for Character day at school. It took a couple of months. I'm so glad she finally chose to wear it! I love it!! She said she was glad too because there were lots of other princesses, but she was the only Pippy and every where she went she heard people saying "Oh, look! It's Pippy!"

Lila decided to dress up too to watch the parade :)

As soon as the parade was over we ran over to Aaron's school to help out with his Fall Craft Day! It was the first time I was able to work in his classroom and it was fun to meet the kids in his class. I really like his teacher this year. I was worried  because I loved his teacher last year so much that I might be disappointed, but she is great! I love teachers who communicate well with parents!!

9 Years

In between birthdays and holidays Nick and I were able to sneak away for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. We had a very nice relaxing few days. Our room looked out over the ocean, it was wonderful!!!

I wish we could make trips like this once a month.
