Father Son Campout

Last weekend was the annual boys camp out. I had Nick take the camera so he could get lots of pictures. He took 5.

Here is Aaron with Nick's friend Dwight from work.

I'm really not sure what this one is about

There were 5 boats brought up with the group so everyone had plenty of time out on the lake.

Aaron was super excited to go and Nick said he had a great time but he came home with 13 mosquito bites, two ear infections, and a sunburn so it took him a few days to recover from their camping trip.

The girls and I had fun at the farmer's market Friday night with Ali and my Mom and then Saturday morning having breakfast with Mother Goose at Story Land.
Maybe next time I'll keep the camera.

TIMBER!!!

Here is the huge tree that was blown down by the wind on our complex this week.

The kids and I had just sat down for dinner when suddenly the apartment started to move and we heard a noise so loud that I thought our building might fall to the ground. A few seconds later I realized it was just a tree and I felt silly, until we went outside and saw exactly how bad it was. I think the tree could have gone through the building if it had hit at a different angle.

These pictures don't really do the tree justice. My neighbor's balcony was ripped off!

Our BBQ and fish tank (empty- thank goodness) were broken when our rain gutter was torn off by a huge branch, but amazingly no one was hurt and no cars were crushed.

Lazy Sunday

More than a few times I have found very random pictures on our camera. They are usually out of focus, cutting some one's head off, of the carpet etc. and I just delete them and promise myself that next time I will keep the camera out of reach. But this time the pictures really made me laugh. They got a little more creative.

I took this one before church.

Then found these others after Nick and I tried to nap after church

Maybe we should invest in one of those kid friendly digital cameras. I see potential.

Last week of Preschool!

Last week was the last time that I will teach Charlotte's preschool. She has loved it but is excited to move on. I finally got Aaron all registered for kindergarden and found out that he will be in an AM class (Hooray) and Charlotte registered for preschool at the same school! Both of them will be at school for 3 hours every morning Monday - Friday!! This will give me a little bit of alone time with Elsie before the new baby and then some quiet time with the new baby after he/she is born. It has been fun doing preschool at home with Charlotte and her friends but I am so glad that it is over before I have another baby. I am definitely not the homeschooling type.

We started out with two girls and two boys but slowly we lost our boys and ended up with three girls. Here are the remaining, Ella, Lindi, and Charlotte.

On our last day we walked over to feed the ducks. Unfortunately, there were none.

The kids had fun eating the ducks snacks.

Mom's Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated my Mom's birthday at Olive Garden. It was Lot's of fun. Good food, great company.

Nick sat at the kid table, he doesn't look too happy about it. I only narrowly escaped.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!

Park date with the Bohners

We go to the park once a week with our wards park play group but I figure no one is interested in seeing the same pictures over and over again. But on Friday we went with different people so I can justify showing more park pics!

My friend Kandice from high school has kids the same age as Elsie and Charlotte.

Here are Kayln and Charlotte

This child's only fear is sand. On the other side of the park is a bigger kid slide which she went down eagerly. Unfortunately she is top heavy and did a somersault half way down which was scary for me, but not her. For now we try to stick to the little one.

A real girl

Over the past few weeks Elsie has become a real girl, wanting to wear necklaces and carry purses and babies around. It is very cute and surprising since she can't talk. I know Charlotte started with the girly stuff young too but she had a few more words than El so she seemed less like a baby.

The other day Elsie decided to put her diaper on her baby doll.

She tried for a long time to get it right. When the first diaper didn't work out for her she went and got another one, and another, and another...... until I finally helped her, and then she took it off and started again.

Sand box

Last week Shalee and Evelyn came over to play and the kids had fun in our neighbors sand box

Evelyn was eating sand for a good two minutes strait. We thought she would get tired of it but she just kept on eating it. The pacifier seemed to calm her appetite. I really wish I had taken a picture of it.

Elsie is not a fan of sand. This is the only way she would sit with the rest of the kids. She cried every time any sand would touch her.

Crazy Kids

Edit: check the bottom

Aaron got the flu last night and during one of his hourly throw-up sessions he said "I think that bad guy who wants to go to heaven, but he can't cause he's too bad (I'm assuming Satan?) made me sick."

Charlotte was playing "Mom and Dad" with Aaron the other day and I heard her tell him "Aaron, when you get home from work I need to tell you "Good job working!" and you need to tell me "The house looks great!"

This one might not be funny if you aren't members of our church but Aaron said "I think Heavenly Father's king is called Heavenly Hinkley." (Sometimes I wonder what they are teaching him in primary!)

I can't wait to hear what Elsie will say when she finally starts talking

I remembered one more. The other day Aaron yelled "YES!! I'm growing hair on my arms just like my dad!! I'm going to be so strong!"
