Hat Creek 2010 - Day 6

Our family stayed pretty close to camp the rest of our time there. The kids were just fine with that. There is plenty do right there at the campsite. Thursday was very overcast, which was kind of fun. It felt like we were camping in the Fall.

We bought Aaron a "real" fishing pole during our trip. He made himself one out of a stick and some fishing wire earlier in the week, which was adorable and kind of sad.

We didn't catch any fish this year though. The middle of the day isn't the best time to catch them.

The last three nights we were there it rained for about an hour, right before dinner. Once it even hailed! It was fun because it never lasted long enough to get in the way. (Other than the last night when my dad and I were in the middle of making dutch oven french bread. We ended up standing over the dutch ovens with umbrellas!) For the most part we just hung out in the tent until the rain stopped.

let us know the dates of your next trip and we will make a serious effort. steve and don could provide some rockin' campfire entertainment for us. we have camped at Lewiston Lake and Manzanita Lake, which are up that way. we love it up there and would always talk about how nice it would be to have a cabin there.
