Grandma Siggy's House

Last month we drove 10 hours to visit Nick's Grandma in Brookings Oregon. Nick helped them move up there a year and a half ago but the kids and I had never been. I drove to Livermore where we spent the night and then continued on with Jodi at 4am the next day.
The ride up was fairly easy. We arrived at 2pm and the kids only got restless the last 20 minutes.

Our only real stop was here in a beautiful state park. We stopped here on the way home too.

We had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying the cool weather. We picked a perfect time to go, Fresno was experiencing 113 degree days.
We ate lots of good meals

spent time on the beach

(she didn't even mention that we were going to be there on her birthday....and it was an important one too)

We had such a lovely time, we wanted to stay another week. I was intimidated by the 10 hours in the car, but starting early in the morning made it very manageble. (the ride home was a different story...we didn't leave until 10am) I feel like we could make this trip more often. Hopefully next time Nick can come.

What cute kids. They look like they had a blast (except the crying picture.)
