On our way to the fair this year we stopped at Sonic

We ordered some yummy tator-tots and guess who brought them out!
We hung out there until she got off work then headed over to the fair grounds...

...where we were smuggled in inside this huge van!

The first stop is always the pirate ship!

These two snuck off in search of some cotton candy

This was the first year we sampled a deep-fried twinkie (or anything deep-fried for that matter)
I must say we weren't impressed

Charlotte came home from school excited because her friend Charlotte J. was going to the fair that day too. We found her on our way to the pig races!!

Lila really loved saying "Hi" to all the animals.

Manditory totem pole picture!!
(Ok maybe not actually a totem, but I'm not sure what else to call it)

Photobucket
We ordered a massive three scoop cup of gelato...it didn't last long!

Photobucket
So, we headed over to the funnel cakes as soon as it was gone and ordered two of those. Yum!

My mom gave each kid $5 of their own money to spend at the fair. They weren't sure if they wanted to buy candy or go on a ride, but as soon as they saw these human bubbles their minds were made up! So, into the germ infested balls they went!!

And they loved it!!!
It was 10pm when we finally decided to go home,
and it was a school night!! (Don't tell their teachers)
I drove Aaron to school the next morning so that we could sleep in a little bit later, and Charlotte has afternoon kindergarten. They were fine, but I did feel guilty while they were at school the next day!
Next year we will start our trip to the fair a little bit earlier, but we had a great time. We always look forward to this time of year!

Your day at the fair looks so fun. Did they like those balls? They just got them at our mall and I always think they look hilarious :-)!

I have never seen those balls, amazing invention. Looks like such fun, I LOVE the Fresno Fair...it's better than the Texas State fair (don't tell any Texans). My favorite picture...the pig race.

Your fair experience looks so fun! Too bad about the fried twinkie. I loved the deep fried food at the TX fair. Those balls are hilarious and you're right, probably germ-infested!

Oh, count me in next year. Looks like you had soooo much fun. Do they have adult sized bubble balls? I'd love to see Nick get into one. The picture of Alex and Lila sneaking off for cotton candy is great....Lila looks like Desire.
